Thanksgiving Day Rove

Thanksgiving day POTA

Location: 40.74890° N, 80.67612° W (Middle Beaver Road) The sign says Beaver Creek SP, but is actually on Beaver Creek SF property.

I went out to my favorite two-fer at Beaver Creek/North country Trail today. I wanted to do some troubleshooting on my system and found I still have some problems.

I also swapped out the signal-link cable and found that was not my problem for the FT8. The next step is to hook the FT8 components up in the ham shack tonight. This morning was a 100% CW activation. I managed to add 30 and 17 Meters to my scorecard for this location. That’s six bands down; 4 bands to go at this location. I ran 30 W into the ATAS antenna. The more I use that antenna, the more I fall in love with the frequency agility that it provides.

Problems:

I have an intermittent in the feedline. Time for new connectors on this one. Also I’m going to start carrying a spare feedline again

60 Meter didn’t work. I got the flashing red transmit light when I would key up. I will do more reading. I’m sure that the issue is my inexperience on this band.

FT8 still doesn’t work. The Signalink keys the transmitter, but no red PTT light, or audio coming from the Signalink.
